The Mazda3 GT produces 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque with its 2.5-litre four-cylinder. These numbers all exceed the Civic sedan's standard powertrain, as well as its other available engine, the notoriously unreliable 1.5-litre turbocharged unit.
The Mazda3's third engine is a 2.5L turbo that generates up to 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. It is available in the GT model and it offers competition-like performance that goes above and beyond what the Civic has to offer at the moment.
